SelgasCano a Spanish studio have created a unique bookstore based on the fictional library of Babel in East London. The unique bookstore has irregular handmade wooden shelves and mirrors to create a sense of boundlessness. The Spanish studio promotes “a return to physical material things”, as they believe people are opening their eyes to the effects of being immersed in a digital world. Because of this, we are now craving experiences that are tangible, human and immersive. This is true across industries, where it can be seen that there is a fresh appreciation of craftsmanship, “these things are not being killed by the digital; they are given new life”.
